Preparation of the CNY Regional Sustainability Plan is being conducted under the direction and governance of the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNY RPDB). The CNY RPDB is a public planning agency that is governed by a 35 member Board of Directors with seven representatives from each of the agency’s member counties. Directors of the CNY RPDB include three ex-officio elected representatives of each county legislative body and four individuals that are appointed by the highest elected official from each county. To support its comprehensive planning work in Central New York, the CNY RPDB has formed a standing Regional Advisory Committee (RAC). The committee consists of 50 representatives from across the region and includes federal, state, and local elected officials, community leaders, business interests, academic institutions, community-based organizations, state and local agencies, and private citizens. Members of the RAC are invited to participate in the bi-monthly meetings of the CNY RPDB and have been asked directly to assist staff with the preparation of the CNY Regional Sustainability Plan.
